Clause

Clause:
· A group of words containing a SUBJECT and FINITVE VERB.
Ex: A very good book is on the table

Independent Clause:
· A clause which can make a sentence by it self
Dependent clause:
· A clause which can not stand alone and it must be connected to an independent clause
· Dependent clause can be split into à
1. Noun clause
2. Adjective Clause
3. Adverbial clause
Noun clause
· Noun clause is dependent clause (A clause which can not stand alone and it must be connected to an independent clause) which the function as noun. A noun clause is the same ways as a noun.
Ex: His story was interesting (Noun phrase as a subject)
S V C
What he said was interesting (Noun clause as a subject)
S V C
Other example:
1. I heard his story (N.P as a object)
2. I heard what he said (N.C as a object)

How to make noun clause????? By question…..!!!!!!!!!!!!
· Where does she live? I don’t know where She Lives
· What did he say? I could not hear what he said
· When do they arrive? Do you know when they arrive
· Who lives there? I don’t know who lives there
· What happen? Please tell me What happen

Adjective clause
WHO à
Ex: I thanked to the woman
She helped me
à I thanked to the woman who helped me
